I am Ted Taniguchi and I was born in Japan in a US military hospital. My dad was stationed in Sendai, Japan as part of the American Occupational Forces after World War II. I grew up in Maryland and spent many wonderful summer days fishing with my dad (LOVE Maryland crab cakes!). Later we moved to my parent's home, Hawaii where I attended highschool and later, after serving in the Navy for four years, the University of Hawaii (Go Bows!!).
I met a wonderful lady while I was working at Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard who captured my heart and we were eventually married. Living in Hawaii is expensive and it was difficult to raise a family without both of us working. We decided to move to the "Mainland". It was during the transition to moving and settling in Silverdale, Washigton that I came to know Jesus and give Him control over my life. I learned much from the pastor of the church we attended and from Bible Studies that I went to and to the Men's Prayer group that God led me too.
We moved to Idaho Falls in 1996 when I got a job with a small subcontractor at the INL. We left for Sandusky, Ohio for two years (2003 to 2005) and God brought us back to IF.
We have four children: Nathan living in San Diego, CA; Janal in Mesa, AZ; Robert and Elizabeth in IF. We have three grandchildren (Janal's), two cats, and three fish.
